Biographie

Leviathan est un groupe de Black Metal originaire des États-Unis. Il fut formé en 1998 par Wrest (Jeff Whitehead) à San Francisco, Californie. Wrest est alors le seul membre du groupe et le restera tout au long de l'existence de celui-ci. La musique de Leviathan est terriblement froide et melancolique, ce style étant généralement qualifié de Black Metal Dépressif/Suicidaire.

Le groupe compte déjà deux albums à son actif et un bon nombre de démos et s'est déjà fait un nom dans le milieu du Black Metal Dépressif. On peut le comparer à Xasthur ou à Shining qui sont les deux autres principaux représentants du genre avec Forgotten Tomb. On peut également noter la participation de Wrest au projet Sunn O))).
